After another disappointing season in 2012 it was clear the Minnesota Twins needed to improve their pitching staff and prospects. In an effort to do just that the Twins traded Denard Span to the Washington Nationals for pitching prospect Alex Meyer and Ben Revere to the Philadelphia Phillies for pitchers Vance Worley and Trevor May. In their time with the Twins, Span and Revere have become fan-favorites for their amazing defensive abilities and their hustle on the base paths. Most of the best catches made at Target Field have been made by those two including a catch that won Ben Revere a GIBBY Award in 2011 for Best Play of the Year. They certainly brought a lot of fun to the ballpark every day and it won’t be quite the same without them patrolling the outfield for the Twins.
