If April showers bring May flowers, I’m not sure what April snow showers bring. Probably the biggest story of this last home stand, that included the Indians and Rays coming to town, had to be the weather. The first game of the home stand against the Indians we were in our seats for no more than 10 minutes before the game was officially postponed due to rain. Unfortunately, it was also the only game in the series that I was planning on photographing. The rescheduled date for the game has yet to be announced.

The weather for the next series against the Rays was even worse. The first game of the series had to be rescheduled as part of a double header with the third game in the series because of rain. The second game in the series was bitterly cold. In fact, around the 3rd inning of the game it began to snow! They began playing Christmas music between innings and called it a Twinter Wonderland. By the end of the game, the temperature was in the upper 30’s. It was probably the most miserable weather I’ve experienced at Target Field.

To make matters worse, the Twins played horribly over the 3-game series as they were outscored 29 to 6. It was definitely a series to forget unfortunately. The one bright spot was Rene Tosoni making his major league debut during the first game of the double header. He got a hit in his very first at-bat and ended up 2 for 4 with an RBI in the game. Not a bad debut at all.

The next home stand begins on May 10th against the Tigers. Hopefully May brings better weather with it to Target Field. Links to photos from the April 27th and April 28 games are at the top of this post.
